The ongoing humanitarian crisis in Palestine cannot lose its voice, but when words fail, how can we understand the scale of what’s happening?
For the month of November, neun wants to amplify Palestinian voices through art, photography, music, and literature, support Palestinian creative businesses, and interview poets, journalists, and experts.
So what does this look like?
For Palestine Solidarity Month, our articles will cover the following subcategories:
- Lenses of Life on The Ground: Photography & Art – interviews with artists & photographers
- Supporting Creative Businesses – sharing creative work by Palestinian artists
- Reading as a Political Act – from author interviews to Palestinian book reviews
- Tapestries of Thought – interviews with experts, journalists, and poets
- Music Across Borders – interviews with musicians/singers
Interested in being a part of this project? We would love to hear from you!
While our writers are hard at work behind the scenes, organising interviews and collaborations, we are also looking for further contributions from experts, poets, journalists, or creative businesses and artists who want to be part of this project.
Please email us at contact@neunmagazine.com with the subject line “Palestine Month: Artist/Expert Contribution.”
One of our writers or editors will be in touch to discuss what this collaboration would look like, and we can build on the conversation from there. Please note we have a deadline for contributions, which is set for Saturday, October 25th.

Why are we doing this?
Initially, our website was built on Wix. However, once we became aware that the company openly supports Israel’s war in Palestine, we chose to move away, as this stance goes against our values.
We focus on amplifying underrepresented voices, and believe in a (creative) world where fairness, accessibility, and collaboration aren’t exceptions but the standard.
Not only have we migrated our small, independent creative business to WordPress (which wasn’t without its own challenges – we are currently in the process of re-uploading over a hundred of our archived articles), but we also wanted to create a space to stand in solidarity with Palestine.
By dedicating a month of creative dialogue and expression to raising awareness for Palestine, we want to dedicate this space so that stories are shared freely, artists feel seen, and creativity is a tool for change.
Later this month, we’ll also be announcing a grassroots-organised humanitarian aid fundraiser that we’ll be spotlighting and supporting.
Other important information:
Why did we pick November as neun’s Palestine Solidarity Month?
On November 29th, 1947, the United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 181 (II) on the Partition of Palestine, dividing the state into an Arab and Jewish State. (See this link for a comprehensive timeline of key dates in the conflict.)
Now, November 29th marks the International Day of Solidarity for the People of Palestine. We chose November in order to build up momentum leading up to this internationally recognised day.
Lastly, neun exists to reimagine and reshape the creative industry. We aim to support and uplift our community.
We do not have an agenda. We do not condone discrimination in any form.
Our Palestine Solidarity Month is about solidarity through art and culture. Through our subcategories, whether spotlighting photography, creative businesses, literature, poetry, or music, we frame solidarity as something lived and expressed through art.
This allows us to situate Palestine’s story within its creative resistance, cultural resilience, and everyday life, showing that solidarity is as much about amplifying voices and practices as it is about remembering history.
